This series builds on my first suite of credit card paintings, The White Continent.
The Great Plains relates to landscapes between California and Wisconsin, places I saw and photographed while moving back from the Bay Area to the Midwest. As in The White Continent, the pieces are not meant to be documentary per se, but rather a personal reaction to places which many people would consider “the middle of nowhere.”
These paintings are meant to be shown, and sold, as a set. They are mounted on interchangeable brackets so that they can be easily rearranged to the owner’s taste. The installation instruction sheet (PDF) for the White Continent applies as well to this series.
(Please don’t waste your time trying to decode the credit card numbers – they are all scrambled and canceled.)
